ABOUT ESTELLE
Estelle Basson is a registered forensic social worker in private practice, holding both a BA in Social Work and a master’s degree in social work with a specialisation in Forensic Practice. In 2022, she completed her mediation training through Mediation Academy, graduating cum laude, and is currently accredited with ADR International. With eight years experience in the field, Estelle Basson specialises in child protection, abuse evaluations, and family divorce matters. With a strong commitment to the principle of the child’s best interests, Estelle is deeply passionate about safeguarding children from all forms of abuse and exploitation.
She advocates for the protection of their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being, and believes that every child has the right to be heard, taken seriously, and meaningfully included in matters that affect them. Her work is rooted in the belief that empowering children and ensuring their voices are acknowledged is essential to both their healing and development. Estelle’s interest in high-conflict family dynamics—particularly divorce—led her to further training in mediation. She supports families in resolving conflict through constructive, child-focused interventions, offering an empowering and cost-effective alternative to litigation.
She approaches her work with empathy and professionalism, guided by a steadfast belief in every child’s right to safety, dignity, and a voice.
